December is going to fly by isn’t it… I can just tell before I know it, it’ll be christmas eve and there i’ll be still writing Christmas cards.
Day two of The December Project saw me eagerly opening the windows of my advents to find… Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream (M&S) and the Total Moisture Facial Cream (Benefit).
Before I worked in beauty I seriously neglected my nails. They were brittle, constantly breaking, always bare and never painted and just generally not looked after in the slightest. However after using hand cream everyday and trying to nurture them back to good health they are now looking pretty hot.
So this cuticle cream I have now acquired today was pretty awesome. I’v used it a few times today and it smells extremely zesty and lemony and just, well…perfect. being a cuticle butter you’d expect it to be greasy but it isn’t in the slightest, it absorbs straight into the skin and really softens the cuticles so you can push them back easily.
However my favourite thing about this cream is that it’s FULL SIZE! Thats right, a full 15g pot worth £6.49. Okay its not that pricey but baring in mind I only paid £25 for the whole calendar, I’m pretty chuffed.
Now onto the Face cream by Benefit. I was pretty pleased that I’ve got this product because the reviews I’ve read have been nothing but praise. However, I’m a creature of habit and have been using nothing but E45 cream on my face morning and night for the last 5 years. I’m reluctant to change to a fancier product incase it doesn’t suit my skin and ultimately causes me to waste my money.
But I tried this and I was pleasantly surprised with the result. (9 hours after applying it; don’t judge me i got up 9 hours ago, its my day off) It has left my skin super duper soft all day, completely non greasy which I LOVE! When I applied it, It didn’t smell perfumed or like E45 (which is commonly a baby bum cream), it had such a fresh and delicate scent. So it made a nice change to not have a face that smelled like a baby’s bum. Winning.
So overall I loved both of todays products, I’d probably say Benefit won day 2 on the grounds that I wanted to try a new face cream, and in my routine a cuticle cream is a bit of a luxury, not an essential. I’ll more than likely be buying the Facial Cream once my little sample pot has run out. which is a novelty for me spending more than £4 on a face cream.
